Patients, today we wanted to take a trip in the asylum time machine and give yer rock 'n roll stethoscopes four sides-a quadruple dose of Whiskeytown's Theme For A Trucker 7" (Breaker four-five, breaker four-five). A double 7" that was blowin' down the alt-country jet stream back in the nine-seven.Released by Bloodshot Records in 1997 before their second full-length LP and major-label debut Strangers Almanac. Theme For A Trucker was a double 7" gatefold with tracks that would later see release on the re-issued deee-luxe version of Strangers Almanac. All the usual suspects are present on these tracks: Caitlin Cary, Chris Stamey, Phil Wandscher, Bill Ladd, Steve Terry and, of course, the cowboy minstrel, Adams. The doctors and nursemaids here are diggin' this pair of 45s. Give a listen and let us know yer thoughts.
Should You DL? Of course, as your Doctor, I advise you to download your daily dosage of MP3s...
Take Up Thy Rock 'N Roll Stethoscope and Walk.
Enjoy these 4cc of Whiskeytown...
